Recently, the globally anticipated AHEAD Asia 2026 (Awards for Hospitality Experience and Design) officially announced this year's judging panel. Mr. Yang Bangsheng, Founder and Design Principal of YANG & Associates Group, has been invited to serve as a judge for the 2026 awards in recognition of his outstanding reputation and far-reaching influence in the global hospitality design industry.
Initiated by Sleeper, the internationally renowned hospitality design magazine, the AHEAD Awards are among the world’s most authoritative and respected accolades in hospitality design. Renoened for their rigorous judging process and discerning perspective on design excellence, the awards honour the world's most outstanding achievements in hotel architecture, interior design, and guest experience.
As an advocate of "culturally distinctive hotel design," Mr. Yang Bangsheng has remained committed to his design philosophy of "creating with nature" throughout more than 30 years of practice. Under his leadership, YANG has created over 700 high-quality hotels for leading international hospitality groups, including InterContinental, Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton and Banyan Tree. This marks the fourth time Mr. Yang has been invited to serve as a juror for major international design award, following his appointments as a judge for FRAME Awards in the Netherlands in 2023, a juror for the World Architecture Festival(WAF) China in 2024, and a judge for the UK's SBID International Design Awards in 2025.
Mr. Yang Bangsheng's latest appointment is not only a strong recognition of his professional expertise and international influence, but also reflects the growing presence of Chinese design on the global stage. With the judging process now officially underway, we look forward to seeing Mr. Yang Bangsheng join leading jurors from around the world in Singapore this September to witness the unveiling of the outstanding hospitality design works of 2026.
