The results of the IFI Design Distinction Award (IFI DDA) are in. YANG’s project, Hotel Indigo Nanjing Garden Expo, has been recognized with the 2024 IFI DDA Bronze Award. To date, it has won fourteen international accolades, including the American Gold Key Award and the A&D Awards.
The IFI DDA is a global design competition that aims to celebrate excellence in architectural and interior design projects, foster international design force and promote industry-wide advancement. It is highly esteemed within the global design community.
This year's competition attracted nearly a thousand high-caliber entries from around the world, making it exceptionally fierce. After a rigorous selection process by a panel of top international design masters and authoritative experts, YANG stood out for its continuity in local cultural context and forward-thinking creative design.
In the design of the Hotel Indigo Nanjing Garden Expo, YANG rejected the grand narrative of an ancient capital of six dynasties and instead focused on Tangshan’s geological features. The team tailored and interpreted the neighborhood story under the theme of ‘Mineral Fantasy’ for Indigo, using mineral ore as the main feature of the space to create an inspiring and luxurious holiday experience. By revitalizing the ancient mine pits, the design aimed to evoke people’s respect for the earth and their awareness of natural protection and restoration, demonstrating YANG's commitment to social responsibility.
As a pioneer of culturally distinctive hotel design, YANG persists in the international expression of regional culture and Eastern aesthetics, constantly innovating and moving forward with a legacy of honors. YANG makes every hotel design an icon of the city to promote the common progress of nature, culture and cities.
