Kempinski / Business Hotel /71000㎡ / Xiamen,Fujian / 2012

This project is located at coastal city—Xiamen, with great oceanic scenery. The amazing visual effect of the unique yacht-shaped architecture façade and glass curtain wall has granted the building landmark of the city. It’s perfect location at the urban center allows the guest to enjoy the enchanting view of Yundang Lake while indulging themselves in the resplendent city skyline. The design of the hotel has inherited the luxury and classic of Kempinski, which is the oldest European hotel brand. The beige and dark brown color tone, paired with the high-quality materials both reveal the generous, sedate and plain style of the brand. At the same time, a regional cultural element which was harmoniously combined into the space has brought a deeper cultural resonance and honorable experience.

The height of ceiling in the lobby is high up to 17 meters. To avoid the depression brought by using large area of dark colors, a lot of arc and round shape were used as the partition and decoration of the space. The wine rack pillar vertical down from the ceiling matched with the round stair and lobby lounge counter has add some opulence and formed a visual center in this high-dimensional space. A lot of Chinese lattice was used as background and screen to reveal Chinese character while setting off the solemnity and nobleness. In the Chinese restaurant, lanterns, tea ware, Chinese chair, crystal-beading pendant light and blossoming flowers on the background wall have portray a subtle luxury of tea culture in this serene color tone. The soft color tone in the guestroom has created a warm resting place for the exhausted business elites. The decoration of aigrette and bougainvillea is branded the hotel everywhere like a regional stamp and brings a rich Xiamen atmosphere. The overall hotel design has not only inherited the classic European style but also perfectly expressed the oriental craving of the designer.
