The project is located in Bao’an District, the future core zone of Shenzhen City. Steering away from the stereotype about conventional business offices, YANG’s design aims to create “mindful office space” that not only “inherits the traditional office mode of older employees”, but also “adapts to the behaviour pattern of the new generation (the digital age) of employees”. With priority to “health”, the design utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) and other technologies to make otherwise cold office space mindful and responsive to human needs: lighting, air conditioning and acoustics can be attuned based on the detection of employees’ physical conditions so as to create an optimal work environment; and flexible working areas, supported by moveable furniture, break the traditional fixed office mode of a single person or a single team to realize sharing and collaboration.
